No Holidays! Generally, I love the five year calendar. It helps tremendously with scheduling vacations--kids on school year, husband bids vacation in July for following Oct-Sep and work schedule every four months. We need a calendar that goes beyond the current calendar year. I love it for all those reasons. However, no holidays, not even the major ones--Thanksgiving, Christmas, Memorial Day, Labor Day. No daylight savings time (change clock) reminders. Anyone can print a blank calendar--I really expected holidays and was disappointed on that front. However, I looked them up and wrote them in because managing household plans when work and school operate on different calendars, long range is the way to go.love that it is simple and 5 years doesn't have all the extra pages for each day that take up room in the calendar that I never use. one month is spread over 2 pages. I do wish it had the holidays, but I can live without. The cover seems strong enough, but time will tell with that. Right off the bat, I'm quite happy with my new work calendar!Awesome five year planner. I ordered this planner for myself. I have to keep three people's appointments plus house plans, etc., and I can't stand having notes all over the place. This way, it's easier to keep everything in one place and make sure I don't double book appointments like I've done in the past. I've started using it already for 2019 and so far seems to be doing what I want it to do. I can also take it with me when we go out and make sure that there no overlapping appointments. Working great for me. Thanks!

Brant's Return Free Pdf

ISBN: B07MBYP7C3
Title: Brant's Return Pdf
A stunning, heartfelt new stand-alone by New York Times best-selling author Mia Sheridan.

Brant Talbot runs a glitzy network of high-end bars in New York City, enjoying all the benefits of the lavish lifestyle he's worked so hard to achieve. When he learns that his estranged father is dying, he must return to his family's Kentucky horse farm - and to a past he thought he left behind.

While facing long-buried truths, he collides with his father's secretary, Isabelle Farris. Despite his undeniable attraction to the beautiful, independent young woman, he sees secrets in her eyes and believes she has designs on Graystone Hill.

Now the one woman he can't afford to trust is about to become the one he can't let go.

THIS IS A STAND-ALONE SIGN OF LOVE NOVEL, INSPIRED BY CAPRICORN. Contemporary Romance: Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

Absolutely marvelous Following a prologue that shows the aftermath of a heinous crime, Brant's Return opens with Isabelle Farris working on a horse ranch, Graystone Hill, and finding out that her employer of the past few years, Harrison Talbot, has a son. A son who's been estranged from his father for some thirteen years.Being familiar with grief, loss, and not having the opportunity to say goodbye, she takes it upon herself to overstep the bounds of her role as secretary, and reach out to Brant, to let him know that his father has cancer, and that the doctors have estimated that he only has months left.Brant, a successful nightclub owner in New York City, thanks in part to the reasons he's been quite happy to maintain the divide between his father and himself, promptly makes several unflattering assumptions about Ms. Farris, but for purely mercenary reasons, having to do with the small batch, collectors bourbon distillery sitting abandoned on the fringes of the family property, chooses to return home one last time to see if he can tolerate his father long enough to come to some kind of understanding. Thus begins an unlikely romance that involves ponzi schemes and Amish morals, high society femme fatales and gritty detectives, the glitz and glamour of New York and the rolling hills of Kentucky, and the remnants of childhood dreams of magic portals. One aspect that I found particularly fascinating, was how Brant, who'd obviously undergone a significant personality change as he reinvented himself after his move to New York, seems to vacillate between the vibrant young man he'd once been while in Kentucky, and the cold ruthless businessman he'd become in New York, almost as if, as the story shifts from one locale to the next, his persona is drawn to conform to who he has been in each location.Filled with twist and turns, revelations and long forgotten recollections, Mia Sheridan has crafted a delicate and sensitive love story wrapped up in layers of pretension, misunderstanding, greed, murder, and so, so much heartache.I found myself captivated from start to finish and found myself second guessing time and again which characters were what they seemed to be and which had agendas yet to be revealed.Absolutely marvelous.Finding love and trust Brant Talbot’s life in NYC is the opposite of what he left behind in Kentucky. He goes back to see his dying father after being estranged for over a decade due a phone call from Isabelle Farris, the secretary for Brant’s father. Assumptions are immediately made and Brant is none too happy that Isabelle could be the one to inherit Graystone Hill.Brant comes off cold, suspicious and all business. He doesn’t have room in his life for emotions or love, but he’s starting to see that perhaps he still might have something to offer to Isabelle. Belle hasn’t had it easy after a devastating tragedy 3 years ago and Brant’s father gave her a job and place to stay to let her heal and recover. She’s still coming to terms with her losses and doesn’t want anyone else to endure the lack of closure that she had. She’s very independent, thoughtful and compassionate. She’s also lonely and looking for someone to offer unconditional love and acceptance. Both Brant and Belle have deep scars from the past that make it hard to move on. Yet they have a palpable connection and share an understanding with one another. I felt like Brant transformed rather quickly out of his NYC persona once he met Belle, and maybe it was the familiarity of his childhood home, but it seemed a little abrupt. Regardless, they have to confront the past to determine if they have a future. There is a slight mystery and touch of suspense, too, and I was really curious to discover the answer behind those questions, knowing it would offer closure. As usual, Mia Sheridan weaves a story with complex characters who bring a lot of tension and emotions to the surface.Tender and endearing, powerful and moving. Brant's Return is superb. As always, Mia Sheridan doesn’t disappoint. Brant’s Return was not light per se – it dealt with some pretty weighty issues in the characters’ pasts – but there was a tender quality about the entire story that made it feel lighter than it was. I felt like Brant’s Return was the reward for all the pain and suffering the characters had gone through. We had to touch on those horrific experiences to understand how the characters had come to that point in their lives, but we got to revel in the afterglow of hope and healing. The prologue of Brant’s Return gutted me; I was so sure this book was going to destroy me I was almost afraid to continue. My trust in Ms. Sheridan and her powerful, beautiful words made me persevere. Thankfully, I was right to put my faith in her. Brant’s Return was a wonderful story of surviving, healing, growing into your full potential – and realizing those things don’t always look the way you assume.Mia Sheridan writing was superb in this book. I often found myself stopping and rereading passages because the prose was so moving. I’m continually impressed by the way she takes all the words I know and love and gently coaxes them into art so poignant I feel it move through me and make me reconsider their power. Some authors are uniquely capable of weaving an intricate and exquisite tapestry with their words, and Ms. Sheridan is at the leading edge of that elite group. The only wish I have for Brant’s Return would be to get the answer to Brant’s question of why Isabelle looked so familiar to him. He mentions it several times in the opening chapters of the book; then it’s never touched on again. It seemed so vital when he was asking, so I was on tenterhooks with anticipation for that reveal, then it never happened.Brant’s Return is part of Mia Sheridan’s Signs of Love series. These books are all complete standalones and can be read in any order, without reading any of the other novels. Brant’s Return is written in dual first-person perspective, narrated by Isabelle and Brant.

Hello World Pdf

ISBN: B07JN674WJ
Title: Hello World Pdf Being Human in the Age of Algorithms

Shortlisted for the 2018 Royal Society Investment Science Book Prize

A look inside the algorithms that are shaping our lives and the dilemmas they bring with them.

If you were accused of a crime, who would you rather decide your sentence - a mathematically consistent algorithm incapable of empathy or a compassionate human judge prone to bias and error? What if you want to buy a driverless car and must choose between one programmed to save as many lives as possible and another that prioritizes the lives of its own passengers? And would you agree to share your family's full medical history if you were told that it would help researchers find a cure for cancer?

These are just some of the dilemmas that we are beginning to face as we approach the age of the algorithm, when it feels as if the machines reign supreme. Already, these lines of code are telling us what to watch, where to go, whom to date, and even whom to send to jail. But as we rely on algorithms to automate big, important decisions - in crime, justice, healthcare, transportation, and money - they raise questions about what we want our world to look like. What matters most: Helping doctors with diagnosis or preserving privacy? Protecting victims of crime or preventing innocent people being falsely accused?

Hello World takes us on a tour through the good, the bad, and the downright ugly of the algorithms that surround us on a daily basis. Mathematician Hannah Fry reveals their inner workings, showing us how algorithms are written and implemented, and demonstrates the ways in which human bias can literally be written into the code. By weaving in relatable, real world stories with accessible explanations of the underlying mathematics that power algorithms, Hello World helps us to determine their power, expose their limitations, and examine whether they really are improvement on the human systems they replace.

Good book for a Numberphile I like Hannah Fry's writing style. It is engaging and moved through the stories and information in a captivating way.The topics are serious and interesting, never boring. It is a good challenge to consider the algorithms that we do not always put enough thought into.Worth a read, go for it.Thought-provoking well written I enjoyed reading this, the author writes well about a complex topic without trite simplification or boring detail. The conclusion is great: algorithms need to be contestable and transparent, as already know all human decisions need to be, because all make mistakes. Are algorithms our friends or foes? This book explains in a clear and simple way (sometimes repetitive) the wonderful results of using modern algorithms. It also shows the danger hidden in these algorithms if used without human discretion and critical insight. As an example from the book: If a group of trained pigeons are collectively almost 99% accurate in "reading" microscopic slides of breast biopsies (or mammography films) why not use algorithms as aids to the pathologist (or radiologist). Algorithms are more sensitive than human observers, but less specific. So combining the sensitivity of the algorithm and the specificity of the pathologist/radiologist may improve medical diagnosis. Many other examples from different fields are discussed in this nice easy read.

Scythe Download

Title: Scythe Pdf

Two teens must learn the "art of killing" in this Printz Honor-winning book, the first in a chilling new series from Neal Shusterman, author of the New York Times best-selling Unwind Dystology series.

A world with no hunger, no disease, no war, no misery: Humanity has conquered all those things and has even conquered death. Now Scythes are the only ones who can end life - and they are commanded to do so in order to keep the size of the population under control.

Citra and Rowan are chosen to apprentice to a scythe - a role that neither wants. These teens must master the "art" of taking life, knowing that the consequence of failure could mean losing their own.

Scythe is the first novel of a thrilling new series by National Book Award-winning author Neal Shusterman in which Citra and Rowan learn that a perfect world comes only with a heavy price.

Loved it! Let me see if I can write a review for this book that doesn’t sound like a bunch of nonsense.I heard so many people raving about this book and I just had to see what all the fuss was about!I REALLY enjoyed this book! If you were to explain this book to someone, it might not sound like there cup of tea.So this book is set in a world where people don’t die, you become deadish, because immediately upon the stopping of your heart, you are taken to a revival center and brought back to life. There are no diseases, no strife. Everyone has a good life, a satisfying life.To combat with over population, the Scythedom was created. Scythes have one job, and that is to kill. Citra and Rowan are chosen to become scythes because they don’t want to be a scythe, and that makes them perfect. So much happens in this book, so much growth from the first encounter with Citra and Rowan to the very last page. The world was beautifully built and wonderfully described. There was a lot of foreshadowing that you don’t understand until after the fact. I love it when books have foreshadowing because there little subtle hints towards the bigger picture.I fell in love with certain characters and despised others. There were parts were there was some humor to make light of the situation, but not in a way that was out of place.I love the development between the two main characters, even through the tough times.“’I love you.’ He said.‘Same here,’ she responded. ‘now get lost.’”As for the content in this book, it was relatively mild.Violence: There is lots of violence. Gun violence, stabbing, poisoning, breaking spines, snapping necks so far as to have the head turn and the lifeless eyes stare back. Burning, decapitation, mass murder, and just about anything you could think of. A scythe whole purpose is to kill.Romance: mentions of hormones, mentions of attractions, a kiss, multiple occasions of innuendo, talk about how a character tried to “climb into his bed and be with him” but the other character wakes up and thinks she was trying to kill him.Language: There are several occasions where cuss words are used.Other: a mention of testicles, mention of a girl in a skimpy bikini, mentions of extremities, a joke about making his robe color invisible, walking up the steps naked. There are two instances where someone insinuates that a character is gay (he is not).Innovative! I LOVED this twisted and intriguing story! The synopsis describes this book pretty well so I'll mention a few other things:- The characters are brilliant. Each one of them, including the villains, are deeply established and have some decent layers of complexity. I loved reading how these two main characters grew and changed over time and through their experiences.- Chilling concepts! We are reading about how a group of designated people are privileged with the task of human population control. They have quotas and are the only ones allowed to/required to murder. Naturally this author dove into the many ways in which this can be achieved. Some Scythes are ruthless, others humbled, all of them haunted.- Exciting plot twists! This book kept me on the edge of my seat and I was desperate to learn more about the fates of these characters.- Talented writing. This author is brilliant at what he does! Thank you Shusterman for creating this unique and fresh story, and for telling it with beautifully smooth detail.I highly recommend this book if you're looking for a thought provoking and exciting new dystopian! Can't wait for the next one!!

The full sweep of wonders—from pristine coral reefs to the Gettysburg battlefield to glaciers and all the glorious diversity in between—offers a breathtaking tour of the very best of America's national treasures.

Beautiful eye candy Beautiful eye candy! Nice breather when I need to "travel" for a couple minutes. Great when i have time to read for longer.Outstanding!! Outstanding 100th NPS Anniversary book with outstanding pictures of our nation's National Parks'a real treasure for all Americans and anyone form around the world who visits our National Parks. God's grace in pictures too!Beautiful and informative book- more than a coffee table book. This is a beautiful book, and purchasing it through Amazon is literally half the price of purchasing it from National Geographic directly. I purchased it for my father-in-law for Christmas, and he loved it- as we all did. Everyone in the house took a turn looking at it on Christmas Morning. The photos are lovely and vibrant with some foldouts, and it gives a good deal of info on each park (helpful if you want to find a new one to go to or reminisce about a previous visit). The only negative was the box came completely mangled and had been taped up, and the cover overwrap was bent and folded a bit. I am sure this was more of a post office issue and not Amazon's fault, and it didn't affect the actual cover or any of the pages, so it wasn't a big deal. Highly recommend.

Believe It Pdf

ISBN: B07LB7LR5G
Title: Believe It Pdf My Journey of Success, Failure, and Overcoming the Odds

New York Times best seller

Get ready to defy the odds when everyone's counting you out.

When the Philadelphia Eagles' starting quarterback went down with a torn ACL in week 14 of the 2017 NFL season, many fans - and commentators - assumed the Eagles' season was over.

Instead, Nick Foles came off the bench and, against all odds, led the Eagles to their first Super Bowl victory in history. How did Nick get it done - winning MVP honors, silencing the critics, and shocking the world? How did the man who was on the verge of retiring just two seasons earlier stay optimistic and rally the team to an astounding win? How did he stay ready despite numerous trades and discouraging injuries, able to step up in the moment and perform at the top of his game?

Believe It offers a behind-the-scenes look at Nick's unlikely path to the Super Bowl, the obstacles that threatened to hold him back, his rediscovery of his love for the game, and the faith that grounded him through it all. Learn from the way Nick handled the trials and tribulations that made him into the man he is today - and discover a path to your own success.

INSPIRATIONAL! Quick read for NFL fans-especially Eagle fans! Fly Nick, Fly! Rocky would be proud! This is an inspirational, quick read / "can't put down" book for NFL fans in general, and even more so for all of the dedicated, UNDERDOG Eagle fans out there! Nick Foles shows his fortitude while also sharing his down times when so many people doubted his ability to play successfully in the NFL. Through years of "back-up" status and heart breaking trades, Foles never gives up on his dream. In what could easily be a fictional tale, Nick is suddenly faced with the ultimate opportunity to prove to the world, and himself, that he DOES have what it takes to be a CHAMPION when the Philadelphia Eagle's lose their first-string Quarterback, the likely League MVP - Carson Wentz, to a devastating and season-ending injury. The Eagles had been on a completely unexpected, miraculous march to the playoffs at the time. Despite ultimate underdog status, the entire team, with Nick in the hot-seat position of starting Quarterback, goes on to a storybook ending, affirming the belief of diehard Eagle fans and quieting so many doubters across the NFL world. The fact that this story unfolded in the city that brought us Rocky Balboa is just icing on the cake!Honest and Humble Nick Foles shows what an honest humble person he is. Tom Brady could learn a lot from how Nick sees the world and those around him. Based off of the Super Bowl result, Brady could learn some football from him too.Great Book Extraordinary man and extraordinary story about an event that captured peoples hearts. Especially in the Philadelphia area. Being a die hard Eagles fan there is very little that is going to top the 2017 season and what took place. I'm not a big reader of sports books although several over the years have captured me, "A Good Walk Spoiled", comes to mind. Another aspect of Nicks story that struck me is his faith in God and the way he dealt with the world of professional football. I read the book cover to cover in a day. I simply could not put it down. It's not a literary work of art but it's a good story told by a man who seems to have a balance in life that is inspiring. If your a football fan then the insider views of the 2017 season will be of great interest. If your a Christian then Gods hand is more then obvious in the events that took place. Highly recommended
