Midori's writing and ties have a sexiness, clarity, and style to them that I really appreciate. I will say that at times the step-by-step instructions for ties are not consistently foolproof for a complete beginner (for example, a written instruction may indicate something slightly different than the accompanying line drawing)-- but if you slow down and develop a sense of the logic of each tie, you'll get it. One of the strengths of the book is that, taken as a whole and over time, it helps you develop that sense of the underlying structure of the ties. If I could only have one book on bondage, this would be it (if allowed a second, I'd add on Essence of Shibari and Bondage for Sex as the third ;))My husband I love this book My husband I love this book. It's got plenty of illustrations, is clearly written, and allows novice players to learn. If I was a beginning player, and if wanted to choose one book to learn from, this would definitely be it.In this book you will learn about knots, basic technique and safety. You'll learn about several different ties, and once you learn them, it's easy to incorporate them into original work of your own.Yes, I recommend this book. I'm glad I bought it. You will be too.
